We have been learning all about Palm Sunday and how Jesus rode into Jerusalem on his donkey earlier this week we made palm leaves and shouted Hosanna Hosanna.
Today we have been learning all about the last supper, we shared the bread and acted out the story together.
19th March - St Joseph’s Feast Day! We have had such a lovely day celebrating together our class Saint. We heard all about what Joseph did and how he taught Jesus his carpentry skills, we enjoyed being carpenters outside ourselves.
We had so much fund looking at year one projects what fabulous learning they have done we were so impressed!
Our easter parade was a huge success well done to all the children and parents to creating such fabulous hats!
Today we had a visit from Mr Houston Benji’s dad who is a firefighter he talked to us about how he helps people in our community. We prepared lots of questions we could ask him.
We had a fantastic World Book Day we explored different stations in our class which had different books linked with lots of activities
The children have enjoyed using their skills to balance beanbags and practise catching and throwing this week in PE
The children loved getting active today with Amy the Olympic swimmer!
In PE today, we have been practising balancing and throwing skills. We have also been working as a team and encouraging and supporting each other
We love Welly Wednesday! We have enjoyed cooking in our mud kitchen, building a forest of trees and using our gross motor skills to climb trees.
We were so lucky this week to have a visit from Fr Stefan to tell us about how he helps people in the community, we prepared some questions for him to answer and he even bought his vestments to show us how he prepares for a Mass.
We have been reading the Little Red Hen we have completed lots of activities related to our story and even baked our own bread. We talked about the importance of sharing with others and working together to make everyone feel happy.
We have also been focusing this week on people who help us, we have been able to recognise in the community all the people who are there to help. We enjoyed our activities linked to this learning.
This week we started our Lent stay and pray with our parents and carers we love to share our special worship time with them!
We have enjoyed sharing our work with our parents and carers this week, we are so proud of what we have achieved.
To start our new half term we have experienced some virtual reality. It was amazing!
We have been learning all about Jesus feeding the 5000 this week in RE. What a miracle it was when Jesus fed all of those people with 5 loaves and 2 fish.
What a fantastic week we have had learning all about Jack and the Beanstalk, we have even grown our own beanstalks in our classroom.
Today we became chefs and made a fabulous bean soup using beans from Jack and the Beanstalk. The children were fanatic and really enjoyed sitting down and eating it together.
What a lovely morning we have had with our Grandparents. It was so nice to be able to share all of our learning with our Grandparents, sing and pray together.
This week we have continued more learning about Little Red Riding Hood. We have read different versions of the story and competed activities related to the story in continuous provision.
This week in maths we have been exploring different ways of making 5 and also exploring height and length.
We have been exploring the the story Little Red Riding Hood. We have acted the story out today and explored the feelings of different characters throughout the story.
In maths today we have been measuring the length of things in our classroom using cubes. We were able to show Elma how to do it too.
In PE this week, we have made up a dance routine as a class to “We’re Going On A Bear Hunt” and played statues classroom. We have had such a fun morning!
In Maths, we have been exploring length. The children have been measuring items around the classroom using their feet, measuring animals and drawing lines with rulers and also using cubes to measure different items.
This week we have been reading our new topic story ‘The Gruffalo’ we have started a range of activities relating to this and even been learning a new song.
