🎹 Music! 🎧

Here at Our Lady and St Kenelm's, we aim to make music as engaging and enjoyable as possible. We promote a love of music and singing across a broadened curriculum with the intent of all children having secure musical knowledge and skill when they leave us in Year 6. 

We encourage children to take part in a variety of performances through which we aim to build up the confidence of all children. Throughout their time at OLSK, all children will have listened to and explored a range of different musical genres and learnt to identify changes in tempo, pitch and dynamics.

Throughout Key Stage 2, children will learn to read and play from a musical score, and to work collaboratively to compose and perform their own music. 

We use the Charanga online platform to assist teachers in delivering high quality music lessons. In addition to this we have specialist teachers from Hagley High School and the Dudley Performing Arts to deliver music lessons throughout the year in Key Stage 2.

We have been awarded the Music Mark award. This is given to schools who meet certain criteria regarding music provision in school. Our partnerships with Dudley Performing Arts have given us the platform to help achieve this award.
