In RE we have been continuing our RE learning about Pentecost and how Jesus made a special promise to his disciples, as well as knowing how they dress the church for Pentecost Sunday.

Using our Gross Motor skills in PE to practice balancing.

In RE we have been learning about Pentecost. We have listened to the Bible story “The Helper Arrives” and explored what happened to the Disciples after waiting for Jesus’ Promise to come.

In maths we have been introduced to the rekenreks, this is a counting frame used in maths. We know that we reset our rekenreks by tipping it to the right and pushing the beads with one push. We have also been using our rekenreks to compare quantities up to 10.

Learning and practicing how to throw Javelins in PE. We made sure we held the Javelin in the middle and aimed it in the right direction.

The focus for Liturgy and Prayer this week was “The Ascension” where we celebrated the amazing moment when Jesus went up to heaven.

Multicultural Week!

Selecting shapes for a purpose, composing and decomposing shapes.

This week we have focused our learning around the story book “Handa’s Surprise” helping us understand how some people travel without vehicles and choose to walk aswell as learning and understanding about different cultures around the world.

Pyjamaarmour Day!!

Taking away in Maths and representing the numbers on ten frames.

In RE we have been creating flowers for Mary, Saying prayers to our new Pope Leo XIV, creating rosary beads, painting flowers and practicing the sign of the cross.

Maths- Composition of numbers 6-9 using the 5 and a bit structure.

PE - Athletics

Liturgy and Prayer Jesus said to his friends "Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another." Jesus wants us to love everyone around us. That is the best way to show that we follow him.

Today in Maths we explored adding more. We used the ten frames to help us by representing a number and then adding more and seeing how many there are now.

This week in maths we have been Focusing on composition, using ten frames, die frames and counters to explore the composition of numbers to 10, recognising that the numbers 6-9 can have 5 as a part.

This week in PE we continued to practice our Athletic skills, we used the new skills in races and used a baton to compete against the other teams.

Liturgy and Prayer Dedicated to Our Lady for the Month of May, remembering how much we love her and thinking about how much Jesus loved and cared for his mother.
