Our Autumn Learning Journey

We have enjoyed learning lots of new Christmas songs and the actions to them. Also our favourite game during circle time is β€œ Who took Santa’s πŸ§‘β€πŸŽ„Bells?”

These are many ways we practise our writing, counting and creative skills - we all love πŸ’— learning so much.

We are so creative with all types of building materials and we use our personal and social skills to work together to create our masterpieces.

Look at the fun we had when Santa came to visit while we were having our breakfast in Pre School. Once our tummies were full we played party πŸŽ‰ games such as musical 🎡 chairs and musical 🎢 statues.

Mary & Joseph, paid a visit to Mrs F on their way to Bethlehem today!

The popped in to say a huge thank you from all the shepherds, donkeys & all the cattle, for all the wonderful new toys that they have received!

All of these new toys will help them to develop their learning and help them deepen their faith as they dress up in all their new dressing up clothes! πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ₯° βοΈ They couldn’t stay long on their visit; they told Mrs F that they had a long way to travel to Bethlehem! πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‡πŸ˜Š She thanked them for their beautiful card and waved them goodbye as they continued on their journey! πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡

WOW 🀩 You made us β€œSO PROUD” today as you all took part in the Christmas πŸŽ„ Nativity and shone like true β€œStars” - I know your parents would agree you are all AMAZING 🀩. Rest up tonight and let’s continue with our festival activities tomorrow πŸ₯³

LOOK WHO POPPED IN TO SEE US TODAY!,,,,,,,,,,,,,The Christmas Robin must have told Santa how good we have been at pre school x

This is behind the scenes of our STAR ⭐️ Dancers( and what they do whilst waiting to go on stage)

Please meet our β€œ Pre School Prefects” they are truly great 😊

We enjoyed our Reindeer Run this afternoon ( raising money for others - which makes us kind and caring😊) Also some of us took a ride on our donkey in the stable .

Wow what fabulous Christmas πŸŽ„ jumpers!

The many ways we are getting into the Christmas πŸŽ„ spirit in Pre School β€œ We are so EXCITED πŸ˜† β€œ

Look at how we have began to celebrate β€œAdvent”.It started with us attending the whole school assembly whereby Mrs Finnegan described us as β€œ Respectful and Reverent” We saw the first purple candle πŸ•― being lit and learnt it was the candle of β€œ Hope” Then within class worship we talked about the importance of β€œ Waiting” for exciting things such as birthdays, holidays, and like Mother Mary the birth of baby Jesus. We used our role play which has changed to a stable to talk about Mary and how she would be feeling .We then sang our new Christmas Hymn β€œAway in a Manger β€œ Truly Magical.

We found our bikes and scooters hidden in our new storage area- which β€œ Lovely Chris β€œ built for us THANK YOU πŸ™We are continuing to practice our gross motor skills ( large movement) with the range of equipment. We are exploring the balance bikes 🚲, scooters πŸ›΄, and balls ⚽️. Whilst outside the children were fascinated by the moon in the sky. They are so observant using all of their senses in the outdoor environment!,,

This week at pre school we have started β€œ Show and Tell” sessions to help us to develop our speaking and listening skills! It was a great opportunity to listen to our friends talk about their home toy and explain why it was important to them. Some children were able to ask questions, which was very impressive. The children shown great respect to their friends toys. Thank You πŸ™ All ……… I wonder who will be chosen for β€œ Show and Tell” next week ?

We feel truly grateful 😊 that we have received lots and lots of new toys - and it’s not even Christmas πŸŽ„ yet ! We enjoyed unpacking them, we were so excited everything looked AMAZING!, We even loved the boxes that the resources arrived in ( hours of fun yet to be had) 😊

The children πŸ‘Ά have really enjoyed learning all about Diwali. We shared the story of Rama and Sita, made diya lamps with clay. We designed our own Rangoli patterns on the computer and even made up some dance moves to the music we listened to. The children explored the wooden bricks and made their own version of a β€œTemple.” We have learnt lots of new words linked to this celebration - we know it is the β€œ Festival of Light β€œ and that fireworks are also used at this time of year. So we made our own firework pictures using icing sugar and flick painting. What a busy couple of weeks we have had in Pre school.

We love sharing, reading and listening to stories, so it was a lovely surprise when Mrs Ray and Mrs Pugh took us to visit the school library. We could not believe how many books there were. Some of us have visited a library before but for some it was our first time.

We had a great week CELEBRATING πŸ₯³ Cheeky monkeys birthday πŸŽ‰. It started with us looking for him ….. and he was hiding in the toilet , we then worked together as a team to plan a SURPRISE party 🎈We wrote invitations, cards, wrapped presents 🎁 made a variety of play dough food and some creative party hats.

The children have truly β€œ Loved β€œ our large empty boxes. It is wonderful to see them work together to create their designed outcome,!!

We talked about road safety whilst using our scooters πŸ›΄ and balance bikes 🚲.

During class worship we celebrated β€œ God Our Father” and discussed all of his creations, we then shared our wonderful family photos! We felt truly blessed 😊 for all our family members. We celebrated all they do for us to keep us safe and love πŸ’— us so much.

We shared the book β€œ Strolling through the Seasons,” focusing on Autumn, so we strolled through the paint 🎨 using our feet 🦢🦢it was so exciting!!! It was great using our sense of touch via our feet🦢they described the experience as β€œ cold, sticky, freezing, tickling, wet, like peppy pig 🐷 in muddy puddles.” ( Please ask your child if they remember the colours we used related to Autumn)

Technology is great - here we are practising our computer skills, we are beginning to learn how to drag and click. 😊

This is what FABULOUS Friday looks like in Early Years 😊

Speaking and listening is so important and our children are working so hard on these skills and practising them daily in the Pre school setting. This takes place in all areas of learning such as the puppet theatre, sand/ water play, construction and our Vets role play. It’s great to talk and vital to listen. 😊

We are developing our physical skills everyday within our setting. We are starting to take part in some group activities such as ring games and some of us are even collaborating with others to move large objects within our β€œplay.” We all participate in Cosmic Yoga which is great for our minds and bodies alike.

Look at the many activities we are able to access within Pre school to help develop our fine motor skills - gosh we use our hands in so many different ways.

We are enjoying spending time in Reception making new friends and catching up with β€œ some old friends! β€œ whom we miss from pre school.

Our children are beginning to develop their personal, social and emotional skills through a variety of activities. It is wonderful to see them building new friendships and showing respect and kindness towards others.

We had so much fun on our bikes and scooters in the BIG playground. We also explored the adventure playground, a child suggested they had seen a pirate πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈ so the children decided to go on a β€œ pirate hunt ” they used the magnifying glasses πŸ” to look for clues, Super teamwork and use of imagination - even I was convinced there was a pirate and buried treasure. The children also took the opportunity to explore the planters touching and smelling the flowers 🌸 I felt truly proud when some of our Little Kenelm’s remembered where Mary’s statue was and even took pictures on their pretend camara. πŸ€—

Our first PE session in β€œ Our BIG School Hall β€œ we loved it 😊. We had to use our listening ears to change our movements from jogging, skipping hopping and sliding. We were good πŸ‘πŸΌ at stopping when we heard the tambourine shake and sit down when the drum banged.

On Welly Wednesday we went to forest school for the first time - the children looked so tiny in the large environment. We shared our forest school rules whilst we sat around the campfire πŸ”₯. We enjoyed exploring the vast area including the mud kitchen and met the noisy chickens. We played hide and seek with our friends and had our snack outside.

Wow 😯 Mrs Pugh and I are so impressed with how well our new children πŸ‘Ά have settled into Pre School and how kind our older children πŸ‘Ά have been to their new friends. We are so lucky to have you all in our care.
