Letters and Messages

The children in Y6 are currently working on a collaborative piece of art around the theme of 'Refugees' and we are delighted to tell you that a local art gallery has agreed to display their work from 17th July to 9th Septmeber 2023.

The gallery, The Art Yard in Cradley Heath, have also agreed to let us have an exhibition night on Monday 17th July from 6:00 to 8:30pm, where children and their families can come, see the piece, and have light refreshments. We can't wait to see you there!

Please return your photo consent for by WEDNESDAY 12TH JULY.

Unfortunately, we are no longer able to visit Witley Court next week due to 'operational reasons' at their site. Instead, we are going to walk into Stourport from Astley Burf and have a tour of the canal. We plan for children to get an ice cream from one of the local shops, so please ensure your child has money if they wish to have an ice cream. Please bear in mind, there is also a tuck shop on site at Astley Burf where children can buy snacks etc. Children are responsible for looking after their own money.

Polite reminder: All medical forms need to be completed and returned to school, with details of ANY medication needed (inhalers, hayfever etc. included).

Please fill in the details on your child's sponsor card and return to school by FRIDAY 16TH JUNE. We will collect the sponsor cards and bring them to Confirmation in church on Monday 19th June. Thank you.

Can you please send the reply slip for our library visit into school no later that Thursday 8th June. Thank you.

Important reminder- please collect a medical form from the office, fill in and return to school if your child requires any medication at all for Astley Burf. If you need any additional information about Astley Burf, please see the video uploaded to the Y6 Teams page.

The children will be receiving the kit list for Astley Burf this evening. Please see the information from Astley Burf below:

Please can you ask parents to include a sweatshirt without a hood in their child’s luggage, to save expense we recommend including their school sweatshirt.

Due to Covid-19 please can you remind parents that in addition to the children bringing their own sleeping bag they now have to also bring their own pillow.

Can you please bring a photograph of you and your parents into school on Thursday 25th May for our science lesson all about inheritance. We will take photocopies for the children's lesson and return the photographs the same day. Thank you!

For year 6's dance, children need to 'street wear' please. Baggy t-shirts, joggers, jumper tied around waists, baseball caps etc.

Children can wear uniform to school and bring their outfits in a bag. Thank you!

Children are allowed to wear their PE kits everyday during mock SATS week (2nd May-5th May) and SATS week (9th May-12th May) so they are comfortable for their exams.

Children are also invited to come along for SATS breakfast from 8am every morning of SATS week (9th May-12th May). Breakfast and juice will be provided. Children will have the chance to chat and relax with their friends before their exams to help them feel calm.
