Dignity of The Human Person & Solidarity and The Common Good

Children will have opportunity to build on their prior historical learning of Y1 (changes in living memory) to extend their historical knowledge to event beyond living memory. Children will also revisit and build upon the history learning from year two– Does the past change the present?- to see if event from the past have influence thinking in the present.

Children will learn about events beyond living memory that are significant nationally or globally and how these events have impacted different groups of people. We will explore how vulnerable people were effected by different events and compare it to events happening in their own lives.

We will be learning in particular about The Great Fire of London- where and when it started, how different groups of people were impacted and whether solidarity was shown.
