World Book Day 2023 📚 

This week we have been exploring our CST theme of ‘Option for the Poor and Vulnerable’. We have explored poverty rates in Europe, written prayers and poems. We have explored the importance of creating justice in the world 🌎 

Today we were learning about making equal groups via grouping 🧮 

We loved having our first dance session with Miss Shepherd. We were exploring all things under the sea 🌊 🐠 

Year 2 made valentines card and wrote prayers for our Valentine School of Sanctuary Day 🧡

Celebrating Women in Science Day! 🧪 🧬 

Forest School Fun! We loved our outdoor lesson as part of Children’s mental health week ☀️ 

As part of Safer Internet Day we read Hanni the Magic Window. The Magic Window represented the Internet. We learned about how wonderful the Internet can be but sometimes we might see things we don’t like. We designed our own magic windows and spoke about what we wanted to talk about today 🖥️ 

As part of Children’s Mental Health week we were focusing on the theme ‘Let’s connect’. We designed our own people and we will connect them together to show we are one. We also did some activities in PE. We tried to get the hoop around the circle holding hands and then we finished with some yoga and meditation. 🧠 

Year 2 were practising moving the ball around in a larger space today 🏑 

Year 2 led us in a beautiful collective worship today 🙏🏻

Year 2 looked amazing in their fabulous costumes for superhero day! All for an amazing cause- Birmingham Children’s Hospital! 💙

Today we took photos in places around school that feel like a place of sanctuary to us! 

Year 2 loved making magic number squares on spreadsheets today!

As part of our invasion games we played a team game of bench ball today. We had some excellent attacking and defending going on! 🏀 

Year 2 had a wonderful workshop from South Staffs Water today! We learned about how we can save water in our homes and around school 💧 Did you know? 4 minute showers are the most energy efficient showers! 🚿 

Year 2 led us in a beautiful mass to celebrate the feast day of St Wulstan 🙏🏻

Year 2 explored the different backgrounds in our class today. We look at the world on a map and as a globe and spoke about how we are one family, one world 🌎 

We are really enjoying our invasion games lessons. We have been learning about attackers and defenders!

Year 2 creating artwork for our Solidarity of the Common Good display. We can’t wait to put them altogether to show we are all brothers and sisters 🎨 🌎 

Year 2 loved sharing their baptism photos and special items from their special day! 🙏🏻

We loved our first hockey lesson. We were so good at controlling the ball! 🏑 

We loved our virtual reality workshop based on our new topic today. We explored space and the first moon landing 🪐🌎🌕💫

Using the chime bars in music today. We focussed on the notes C, D, E 🎶 

We were exploring spreadsheets in computing today. We learned some key terminology that will help us. We are excited to learn more! 💻
