Noticeboard

Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful break and enjoyed your Christmas celebrations! We look forward to welcoming the children back tomorrow – I’m sure they will have so much to tell us! Please see the notes below, which include information for the term ahead.

  • Baptism – Our first topic in RE this term is Baptism. If your child has been baptised, it would be lovely if they could bring in some photos from their baptism to help give context and meaning to what they are learning in class.
  • Welly Wednesday – This will continue this term, starting on Wednesday 12th January. On Wednesdays, children will need to come to school wearing their PE kit, and bring their forest school kit in a bag to get changed into.
  • PE Days – This term we will continue having PE days on Wednesday (children need to come to school wearing kit) and Thursdays (children need to come to school in UNIFORM and bring their kit in bag). There will be no Thursday PE session the first week back.

Please also note that Miss Beasley and Mrs Nixon will be teaching in Reception for the first couple of days, and I will be back in school soon. Please make your children aware of this so they know what to expect when returning to school tomorrow.

I can’t wait to see you all soon.

Miss Harris

Updates 6.12.21

What a busy week ahead!

Thank you for all your support with getting pumps and costumes for our Nativity. We are very excited to be recording the performance on Monday which will be made available by the end of the week to watch at a time that suits you. If you are able to join us live for our performance to KS2 on Tuesday 7th Dec at 9.30, click on the link on our webpage and you can watch the children’s fabulous performance live!

Christmas Dinner

Tuesday 8th Dec- Come in own clothes and Christmas jumpers. We will change into our nativity  costumes for the performance then back into our Xmas jumpers ready for our Christmas dinner.

Theatre

We are really excited about the theatre trip on Wednesday. A lovely treat for the children after all their hard work. The performance starts at 1pm and lasts 55 minutes so we will be back in time for the end of the school day.
Reminders - Come in school uniform.
The children can bring a small bag a sweets. Please remind your child that they are just for them and not to share, as we have children with allergies

Update - PE Days

For the rest of this half term, PE days will be as follows:

Wednesday - Children will need to come to school in their PE kit and bring their forest school kit in a bag.

Thursday - On Thursdays, the children will be working on their bike riding skills in PE, but WILL NOT need their PE kit on these days.

Show and Tell

For the rest of this term in Reception class, we will be having ‘Show and Tell’ sessions every Friday afternoon. As part of these sessions, children are invited to bring in an item from home that they would like to show to the rest of the class and tell us about. The rest of the class will have the chance to ask your child questions about their item. This is a great opportunity for the children to practise their speaking and listening skills and also develop their self-confidence when speaking to a group. For details of your child’s ‘Show and Tell’ session, please find your child's initials on the timetable below.

Parents of the chosen children will be invited into school to attend our Early Years ‘Golden Book Assembly’ (which will take place in the reception classroom) and see their child presented with their award. PLEASE NOTE – only one parent can attend per child and we ask that parents wear masks in the building.

Parents will be invited to the assembly via text if their child has been chosen.

WELLY WEDNESDAYS!

Every Wednesday we will be having 'Welly Wednesdays' in Early Years, where we creating, playing, exploring and learning in our wonderful Forest School area! This will mean that every Wednesday, children will need to bring with them their 'Forest School Kit'. This should include wellies, old clothes and a waterproof (ideally something that they change into independently). As the weather changed often, children should ALWAYS have wellies and a waterproof for forest school. We will start the day in school uniform, and then get changed for Forest School in the afternoon.

Date for your diary:
