'I wasn't able to access the booking system. I would suggest that the system to be tested before sending information to the parents.'

Was the Consultation informative and worthwhile?

'I am absolutely bursting with pride and it's clear to see Miss Hudson and other teachers are doing amazing. It was nice to know my child is doing well and achieving their targets and above.'

'Good to hear how they are doing'

'All the teachers were amazing, they gave a detailed explanation of my children’s progress. I’m very thankful for all their help and huge support for the children.'

'Teachers really know my children. Very impressed.'

'Teachers went through each part of curriculum and discussed my child in detail.'

'To the point and positives all highlighted to start which was lovely.'

'Teachers were very helpful and they were able to talk to me about how well my children are going and what I need to do at home to support them. Teachers were extremely polite and supportive throughout. They are a credit to OLSK'

'All the update about my child's progress was very informative.'

'Both teachers I feel have got to know our children really well in a short space of time. Really good to hear the positives, not only academically but also for them personally and we know what we can work on at home to move forward. Our youngest child has needed lots of extra support this week and Miss Hudson and the staff in Reception have done so much to help and reassure our child, with plans already in place to help her move forward. We are really happy with how both consultations went.'

'Everything important was said.'

'I received all information about my child in a clear, straightforward manner and the area that needs improvement'

'Excellent information received and all questions answered'

'It was useful to find out how my child had settled into school and ask his teacher some questions.'

'Great feedback on my child’s progress and on how best to help them moving forward.'

'I think it's important to be able to help your child and discuss with the teacher what needs to be done'

'5 minutes is not long to discuss a child that has only just started at the school and waiting 9 weeks in to term to find out that the first few weeks is not great. Would have been better to have 5 minutes online or over the phone nearer the start of term and then parents evening later in this term.'

Were you able to share your child's work with them either on the evening (KS2) or at their Open Afternoon (EYFS/KS1) this week?

'In classroom after speaking to class teacher'

'Lovely to see the work in school'

'I was able to attend both KS1 open afternoon and KS2 parents consultation evening.'

'I went to the open afternoon and have seen my child work before the consultation.'

'Open afternoon'

'We love open afternoon- sitting with our children to talk through what they have learnt and it was great to see their work tonight too'

'I thoroughly enjoyed sharing my child's work during the evening.'

'So proud of the progress that both of our children have already made in only half a term.'

'Everything was well presented.'

'Open afternoon to share class work however this required time off work.'

'It was a great opportunity for us to celebrate their achieved results'

'It was viewed during the open afternoon'

'It’s lovely to see all their work.'

'It was nice to see the work done in class.'

'Saw an impressive section of my child’s work'

'I bought them along'

'The open afternoon was at a time that was not possible for me to access as a working parent.'

'Unfortunately was at work'

Are there any other comments you would like to share regarding Parents Consultation Evening?

'Thank you so much to all the teachers for the wonderful work for all our children.'

'No, but thanks for the teachers time!'

'It was great to see the teachers and talk about my children. Thank you for taking the time to organise parents consultation evening.'

'I like the brief but informative conversation it's all you need to see how your child is doing academically but also gives you a chance to ask any other things about how they are doing emotionally or improvements to be made.'

'Parents evening is such a joyful occasion. From the minute we arrive we were welcomed by Mrs F - she is always happy to see us. The organisation is excellent- we felt very reassured that the evening would be filled with great enthusiasm and celebrations regard the learning. Thank you to all the staff who work so hard to bring out the best in our children.'

'Thank you for all the staff members for their professional support.'

'Thank you to Mrs Fairfax and Miss Hudson. Both teachers are so approachable and friendly. The evening was really well organised and we also had the opportunity to speak to Mrs Hale, which was really beneficial.'

'Thank you to all teachers who are working hard.'

'Everything was great. Thank you'

'I thought it was an excellent evening'

'It felt quite rushed in 5 minutes, it would be lovely to have a slightly longer slot.'

'It was nice hearing the comments and was able to get answers to questions I had … however, having nothing on paper to take back as previous times was not helpful. Having something written on paper meant we could go back to it at a later point. It helped understand where the child is and what they could be working towards so I’m not keen how this has changed.'

'It would be helpful to have more time with the teacher. 5 minutes is not enough time to discuss everything with the teacher, you feel under pressure to rush the appointment.'

'I am not sure of the reasons for not allowing EYFS children to attend this evening or the reasons for not being able to share work with KS1 children during this evening. Childcare is not easy to find, especially when both parents want to be involved in the parents evening and discuss concerns with a member of staff. Parking is also difficult, the playground always used to be open for parking during these events, I would like to understand the reason that this is no longer an available option for parking. Walking the length of the alley way when it's dark does not feel safe.'

As a result of your feedback

We aim to send emails to every parent, if parents do not receive an invitation for the booking system, please contact the office ASAP and they can send you one.

The booking system was thoroughly tested beforehand and the majority of parents have commented on the ease of booking. If you are having problems, please contact the office for support.

We always offer 5 minute appointments for Parents Consultation as this ensures that the meeting is purposeful and succinct. The majority of parents are satisfied with the length of time given.

We offer Open Afternoons for parents to view work with EYFS & KS1 children and these have to be in the working day of the school, which we appreciate, does not help working parents. However we always organise them towards the end of the day, when parents are likely to be coming to collect their children anyway. . Parents also have the option to view work on the consultation evening.

Unfortunately, due to a change in assessment tools in school, we were unable to print off the parent sheet that has been given out at previous meetings. Once the assessment tool allows us to do this, we will be shaving them with parents, as usual.

We do not allow EYFS or KS1 children to attend due to the nature of the evening and the formality. We would rather they stay at home so that teachers and parents are given time to speak together. We always give parents plenty of notice when Parents Consultation Evening is taking place to allow childcare to be arranged in advance.

We do not allow parking on the playground due to it being refurbished recently. As well as this there is no one tp man to supervise it which in the past, has caused conflict between parents due to inconsiderate parking and blocking each other in. We are working with the council to ensure that lighting and cameras are added to Bundle Hill and the gulley but this is a council matter and not in our hands.

Thank-you for the feedback, we really appreciate it!
