Through enquiry learning, children will use varying skills from geography, science and literacy to explore the question ‘How can I be a leader in my community through love and service?’
They will study this through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching, looking at ‘Family and Community’ and through studying changes in population due to migration and climate change. Children will build their awareness of the social aspects of caring for the earth and leading our local communities in the way Jesus taught us.
Children will build on their prior learning of the geography of the UK wider world.
They will look at the world’s population and patterns in this over time. They will look at the impact of migration and climate change on world population.
Children will also learn about light and how we can conserve the resources we have in our world, using light as a source.
Children will become aware of leadership qualities and how we can all make a difference.
