Autumn

Week beginning 28th September 2026:

Literacy - we practised then performed a short phone conversation taking on the roles of grandad and Tom, characters from the book ‘Seal Surfer’.

Art - we have been developing our drawing skills. We practised shading to create different tones then had a go at using observation skills to draw half of a tomato.

Week beginning 21st September 2026:

History - looking at a range of pictures of different Bronze Age artefacts to see what information we can gather from them.

PE - in gymnastics we practised a range of different jumps.

Week beginning 14th September 2026:

Literacy - taking on the roles of the boy and the grandfather from the book ‘The Seal Surfer’.

Discerning Disciples - we sorted statements about God and Creation into 3 groups, ones we knew, ones we weren’t sure about and ones we didn’t know. 

Maths - practising partitioning numbers in a range of different ways.

Science - sorting animals according to the type of skeleton they have.

Computing - discussing online bullying and the feelings of all people involved.

Music - lesson 2 of learning to play the Ukulele as well as learning to sing new songs.

Week beginning 7th September 2026:

History - we made a human timeline to jumps of 1000 years.

Discerning Disciples - We began by thinking about what we already knew about the creation story. After reading the story in the Bible we designed our own perfect world just like God set out to do.

PE - we revised two and three step balances.

Maths - practising place value in a practical way.

Discerning Disciples - we read the creation story from the Bible and explored the patterns and repetitive phrases. We then used these to create our own creation poems.

Golden Book - we have all settled so well into Year 3. We have worked hard showing resilience and perseverance so the whole class received the golden book certificate.

Music - we had our first ukulele lesson with Mr Shepherd. We learnt a new song as well as how to hold the ukulele correctly and 4 chords.
