London Mini Marathon 2026

WOW! What an incredible day we had at the London Mini Marathon. The children were absolutely amazing and we could not be prouder of them. We even managed to get ourselves on TV! Well done all and thank you for representing our school!

Accompanying Adults

Anyone in Year 3 or above can run on their own, they just need to be escorted to the Start and then collected at the Finish. If an accompanying adult would like to run with their child they can.

Adults will need to accompany children in Year 2 on the course, with a minimum ratio of one adult for every six children.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Many Thanks,

Miss Carey

Info for 25.04.26
We are just 4 days away from the London Mini Marathon day, how exciting!

Please read the info below for what to expect on the day.

All children have been sent home with their packs including all the information for the day. It is really important that your child is wearing their bib for the race. The children's bibs contain a timing chip on the back which will register the child's finish time, so keep a note of your bib number to check the results after the event. The bibs also contain a tear off strip which is required for an adult to collect the child at the finish area. Any accompanying adults that are running will also need to be wearing their bib too.

Children need to be wearing sensible running clothing and wearing their school PE top to represent OLSK for the day.

Please arrive 30 mins prior to your child's start time.

2.6km- 12.10pm start time

1 mile- 12.40pm start time

It is recommended that you download the TCS London Marathon app for the event which contains the event guide, route and how to find your child's results.

There will also be a live stream of the event on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport online. This will include live coverage of the championships races at the start of the day and will then switch to a finish line camera for the mass event, so any families not in London can watch this if they wish and the footage will be available afterwards for anyone wanting to watch back after the event. This will also be available on the London Marathon Events YouTube channel.

Please see links to the participant event guide and the child-friendly participant guide. I will be meeting with the children this week to talk about a final few things before the event.

After the races have taken place OLSK will be meeting in the fan zone (around 1pm) to celebrate your amazing achievements. Please join us if you can!

Any questions, please ask Miss Carey.

Thank you :)
