Summer

Day of Welcome for School of Sanctuary - We thought about why it is important to welcome others and wrote our thoughts on a pair of hands. We then created a leaflet to give someone who is new to our school.

We are working hard to complete our DT project on product packaging. We have drawn and decorated nets for a healthy food product and are now in the process of putting them together. We are beginning to realise that the sizes of some of the shapes on our nets need to be more accurate.

We have completed our Art work for the exhibition. On our homemade papyrus paper we wrote an Egyptian quote about courage then drew Egyptian pictures and hieroglyphics. Next we painted with watercolours before going over the quote with a black fine liner pen.

First Holy Communion - Saturday 6th June 2026

In computing we learned about privacy and security as part of our e-safety lesson. We sorted posts into public or personal!

Thank you to the parents who joined us for our First Holy Communion workshop! We were all very proud of our artwork!

Today we had the opportunity to learn some basic first aid. We practiced putting on a bandage, what to do if someone is choking as well as basic CPR.

PE - in between rain showers we practised bouncing a ball into a target for our partner to catch and then developed skills in 5rowing over arm.

Mrs Lowe’s photos from our trip to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

Dan Callow visited us to lead us in our retreat day. We spent time together playing games, sharing prayers and listening to each other and God! We are really looking forward to our FHC now!

During multi-cultural week, some of our children shared information about their culture.

As part of our History topic about the Egyptians we learnt about the process of mummification by mummifying tomatoes. 🍅

In RE, we have been investigating the Liturgy of the Word. We read from the Book of Psalms & chose a psalm to perform to the rest of the class using singing & instruments. It was a very noisy but joyful lesson praising God! ❤️🙏🏾

When rain interrupts our PE lesson, we do Cosmic Yoga in the classroom.

Taking part in a fitness session with an Olympian who does Judo.

Designing our scrolls with a courage theme and linked to our History topic. We stained paper with tea bags to make them look like papyrus paper. Our designs have a border with a combination of hieroglyphics and Egyptian patterns and a quote about courage in the middle.

We are learning how to design and write code for our own computer games. So far we have selected a background of our choice and changed the character to an animal that we like. 💻👾

We were being theological detectives & investigating the order of the Liturgy of the Word. We wrote the order we though then compared it with our partner. Then we used a copy of the Order of the Mass to find out the correct order. 🙏🏾

We used the chrome books to investigate what we need to do to follow our own chosen vocation when we grow up! ❤️

As part of vocations week, we researched our vocations family trees! 👍🏻❤️

Before and after the mini marathon! 😂

We had a great time at the mini-marathon. It was so tiring though! We did 8 laps of the field which was 1 mile!

In computing we learnt how to managed online information. We looked at things that were facts, opinions and beliefs. We discussed what we can do if we’re not sure & who to talk to about it.

Designing and drawing nets in DT for our product packaging.
