The children enjoy sharing books with the adults and with their friends. This is key to their speech and language development, it is wonderful to see how well their handle the books with care and respect. The children are working hard when trying to complete our jigsaws .
We shared a beautiful day on our “ Retreat” whereby we focused on Mother Mary and how she would be feeling leading up to the birth of her son “ Jesus Christ” We went on a pilgrimage around the playground to imagine what the journey was like travelling to Bethlehem. We visited the Mary’s Garden and Mary’s Chapel we said her special prayer together. We talked about the different emotions Mary would be feeling at this time we referred to our Colour Monster jars. The children painted beautiful pictures of Mary expressing the different emotions.
The children could not wait to go to “ Forest 🌳 School “ on Welly Wednesday - to explore the snow ⛄️
Wow, look at our writing about “ Going on a Bear Hunt” super Writers in Pre School.
How exciting we arrived to school in the SNOW ⛄️ so our wake up shake up was the “ Penguin Dance” Then we wrapped up warm and went out to explore the weather. We made a tiny snow man and talked about what would if we bought him inside? We decided to leave him out in the cold. We snuggled down inside and watched the snowman film and drank hot chocolate.
Forest School - linked to our Catholic Social Teaching we took “ Sofia” our character for Stewardship of Gods Creation to explore and appreciate our wonderful outdoor space. The children noticed the blanket of Autumn 🍂 leaves 🍁 on the ground, they commented on the water which had dried up “ No muddy puddles” to jump in. They could discuss WHY and notice changes in the environment. They are becoming curious learners- scientists 🧑🔬
