Community Languages Day November 4th 2022
Wow! We had an amazing Languages Day on Friday, everyone had so much fun!
EYFS and Year 2 enjoyed learning French; Year 1 were trying out Spanish and enjoying some tapas; Year 3 tried their hand at pizza making; Year 4 had the tricky task of learning Polish and Year 5 had lots of fun speaking and playing games in German.
This year we had some extra special helpers, along with our fantastic parent volunteers - our Year 6 Language Leaders shared their own language skills with classes throughout the school. We are lucky to have so many pupils who are confident to share their own
language superpowers with younger children. In the afternoon, Year 6 continued to practise British Sign Language with Mrs P - Well done to all the children, teaching staff and parents who made the day a great success. Have a look at what we got up to:
Community Languages Day 2021
This year we have been celebrating 2 new languages within our community: Cantonese and Italian; we have also been lucky enough to try Polish again. Of course, French, German and Spanish are still a big part of the day too. We are so grateful to the children and members of our school community who gave their time to help us learn about these new languages and the cultures behind them. Here's what we got up to:
