  • School Councillors protest outside school

    Wed 24 Jan 2018

    Today, our children called in the local councillors to sort out anti social behaviour which is happening around the school gates!

    School councillors from Y1-Y6, protested about the British Legion land next to the school, where people are seen using drugs, smoking & drinking alcohol, which is causing a safeguarding concern to all the children, staff & parents;

    The children were also protesting about illegal parking by parents outside the school & persistent offenders who allow their dogs to foul the footpaths outside the school gates!

    Laura Taylor from the local Conservatives Party met with Mrs Finnegan & listened to the children’s concerns about the anti social behaviour,  & she promised to take these concerns to Dudley Council.

    Mrs Finnegan & children took Laura on a walk about outside the school to show her where this unwanted behaviour is happening. They made banners to support their protest and carried them on the walk.

    Let’s hope the Council will take action and make the surrounding area, a safe place for everyone in our school community!

  • Bishop David’s visit to school

    Tue 02 Jan 2018

    Today, Bishop David spent the morning with all the staff & Governors reflecting on our RE teachings & Catholic Life in school, using the Catholic Pupil Profile.

    Bishop David Spoke to us about our vocational journey, encouraging us to reflect on our own faith as teachers & leaders, in school.

    Our focus was on the question that Pope Benedict asked us, ‘ What kind of person do you want to be?’ Bishop David called on the Holy Spirit & the gifts, to guide us in our teachings, as we begin the new year.

    We thank Bishop David for giving up his valuable time, to inspire us with his great words of wisdom.
