  • Thank you to all the staff & Children for the presentation of the Nativity

    Thu 07 Dec 2017

I think you will all agree with me, the Presentation of the Nativity today, was absolutely wonderful.

The staff have been very busy over the last five weeks, preparing costumes, singing songs, directing the children; all to enrich the lives of our little ones. A huge thank you to them for all their hard work. Our children are a credit to you and us. We are extremely proud of them all for learning their lines and celebrating the Birth of Jesus, as only our children could! Thank you to you the parents for all your support, practising their lines and singing the songs too.

Next week the children in KS2, will present our annual Carol Service. We look forward to seeing you all at this wonderful event during the next week!

  • We need your help to secure the future of Catholic Education

    Wed 06 Dec 2017
    Dear All,
Please help secure the future of Catholic Education.

The following message has been sent to all headteachers, parish priests, chairs of governors, clerks to governors, and chairs of MACs.

“The government in their manifesto promises, had indicated that would remove the 50% cap on Catholic education allowing the Catholic Church to open new Catholic schools and safeguard the future of Catholic Education

The government, under pressure from the secular society, are considering ditching this pledge. It is therefore extremely important that we lobby the government to keep their promises.
If you click the link below it will take you 30 seconds to fill in a form which sends a letter to the secretary of state and your local MP.

  • Operation Christmas Child 2017

    Wed 22 Nov 2017
Children, parents, staff & Governors at Our Lady & St Kenelm in Halesowen get on board with Operation Christmas Child.

Over the last few weeks, children have been wrapping shoe boxes and filling them full of goodies to bring joy to another child on Christmas morning!

The children decided that they wanted to get involved after Mrs Finnegan showed them a video of children from all over the world, waking up on Christmas morning with no gifts to open!

The children were really distressed at this thought, so as the Mini Vinnies motto states; ‘Turning concern into Action’ the children took control and 86 boxes were gift wrapped & sent into school, ready for collection!

The children’s sadness soon turned to joy at the thought of another child, who is less fortunate than they are, will receive a gift on Christmas morning!

Mrs Finnegan thanked all the staff, parents, Governors and especially the children, for living out the schools Mission Statement ‘Bringing out the best in everyone, for the benefit of all, in the Spirit of Christ,’ especially at this time of the year, when all the children have started their rehearsals for the Nativity & singing carols, ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Thank you again for your support & generosity!
