  • Bambinelli Sunday

    Mon 25 Nov 2019

The beautiful Advent Tradition, Bambinelli Sunday, was instituted by Saint Pope John Paul II during his Papacy.

The tradition follows that on the Third Sunday of Advent (Gaudete Sunday) children and adults bring their Baby Jesus figures from their homes to St Peters Square where they are blessed by the Pope.

All children and families are invited to bring the Baby Jesus figure from their homes to be blessed. Families can make their own 'Bambinelli' if they wish.

Parishes around the world now join in the celebration, encouraging young children to make the connection between the Nativity set at home and the local church where they worship each weekend.

“It helps children and young people to prepare for Jesus.”

    (Pope Francis)

At our last school Mass of the Term, Father Bruce will bless the Bambinelli that you have brought in from home.

Following the blessing, take your 'Bambinelli' home, wrap it and open it as a family on Christmas morning where the youngest member of the family would place it in the crib.

A gift of the presence of Christ in your home this Christmas.

This year we will celebrate 'Bambinelli Sunday' on December the 15th.

This is also the Children's Mass in church where the Liturgy team will read the readings and we will sing some of our school carols and songs.

Please bring your Bambinelli stones in on Monday 16th December (not before) so Father Bruce can bless them at Mass on Tuesday 17th December.

Thank-you so much to all of the families who, once again, helped to support Operation Christmas Child. Please take a moment on Christmas morning to think about the difference you have made and send a prayer to the child who will be opening your gift.
  • Arts Week; Remembrance 2019 marks 75th anniversary of the fallen

    Tue 12 Nov 2019

  • Finally, our new kitchen is open.

    Mon 11 Nov 2019

    Yippee- it’s finally finished. 🙏😀🙏

Today, we opened our brand new kitchen in school. All the staff & children loved the food; so much to choose from: homemade lasagne, pizza, baked potatoes, help yourself to the salad bar, and much, much more. The Lunch Bunch were on hand to offer support to the little ones as they battled with the new technology and tried to carry their trays for the very first time, and our new cook, Sue, 👩🏼‍🍳 said our children had impeccable manners. ☺️

It was wonderful to see how much the children enjoyed the food; some even had seconds; nothing going to waste.

We cannot wait to grow our own vegetables in the Spring Term, which we will then use to teach the children as part of our healthy eating programme ; cooking in the curriculum. 🍎🍌🥔🍓🥦🥕🌽🥒🥬🍨🌮🍕

  • We will remember them.

    Mon 11 Nov 2019

Today lessons stopped as we fell silent and remembered the brave soldiers who laid down their lives for us.

As Mrs Woods played ‘The Last Post’ on her trumpet, we thought about the sacrifices all of the brave soldiers made and continue to make for us and our freedom.

We held a 2 minute silence which was impeccably observed by our children.
