Last week KS2 all went to the Rep Theatre in Birmingham to see the BFG. Everyone had a wonderful time and the children were great ambassadors for our school. We had many compliments from the staff at the theatre about their behaviour! They are a credit to our school community and a credit to their parents!

This week KS1 went to see Room on the Broom at the Birmingham Rep. All of the children and the staff had a great time! Once again their behaviour was impeccable and we are really proud of each and every one of them! Thank you to all the staff for organising two great trips and thank you to all the parents who supported us! 

Christmas Dinner was wonderful. We had so much fun singing and dancing to the Christmas music whilst waiting for dinner! Ooh and it was worth waiting for- Turkey, roast potatoes, selection of vegetables and a choice of Christmas puds!! Yummy!! All the children made hats and the lunchtime supervisors wore their Christmas jumpers! The kitchen staff worked so hard to ensure we were all fed! Well done to all the staff for working so hard to make this happen! 

The Christmas Fayre was huge success!!

Many families from our school community came to support us and raise money for school. Thank you to all those who donated gifts, chocolates, books, toys, cakes and much much, more over the past few weeks; thank you to our amazing staff and HSA Members who work tirelessly to make it all happen- it couldn't happen without all of your hard work. I think you will all agree, it was a huge success and great fun!!

This week in school the ICT Wizards from Key Stage Two have been working with students form Newman University to learn all about staying safe whilst using the internet.

The Wizards learnt all about E-Safety and created posters with KS1, including Reception Class, posters with Years 1 & 2, booklets with Y3 & 4 and powerpoints and leaflets with Y5 & Y6.

They shared all their learning with the whole school and the parents in an E-Safety Assembly at the end of the week. All of their work is showcased on a fabulous display in school. Well done everyone!

Harvest Mass and Assembly at Our Lady and St Kenelm Catholic Primary School

Staff, children and parents have come together to celebrate Harvest, with a Whole School Mass and an Assembly, led by Miss Marshall and her class, Year 4! Miss Marshall, who lives on a farm, transformed the school hall with a wonderful display of vegetables to educate the children about the importance of Harvest.

The harvest marks the end of the growing season, or the growing cycle for a particular crop, and social importance of this event makes it the focus of seasonal celebrations such as a harvest festival, found in many religions.

The whole school came together to pray, sing hymns and celebrate the importance of Harvest. 

On 11th November 2014, 

we held a special Mass for all of those who died in the War.

Thank you to all who joined us, as we remembered the fallen, with our prayers.

We also held a two minute silence around our own Poppy Field, created by Miss Marshall, with all the children. This was a wonderful way to remember all those who died as a result of conflict.
