  • Thank you to our amazing staff

    Fri 18 Oct 2019

Parents, I know you will join me in saying a huge ‘Thank You’ to our amazing staff, who gave up their family time, to ensure our children from Y4, Y5 & Y6, experience fabulous opportunities through our Performing Arts Curriculum, by visiting Ingestre Hall in Staffordshire.

All 65 children had the opportunity to specialise in an art form of their choice: art, music, dance, music & film making. The children produced some amazing pieces, which they presented to their peers and shared with our whole school community on our Website! Wow! What fantastic talented children we have among us!

What a privilege it is to watch you grow in confidence, using your God given talents, to bring out the best in yourself & others around you! Thank you to all the staff & children for being great ambassadors for our school. 💕😊💕

  • Our Day of Prayer to celebrate St John Henry Newman

    Mon 14 Oct 2019
We had a wonderful day celebrating the canonisation of John Henry Newman.  The day started with a whole school assembly where we prayed for the new saints and thought about the day ahead.  Each class had time in the hall for quiet reflection together.  The children made fact files and stained glass windows and many other activities about sainthood and St John Henry Newman.  At the end of the day we came together as a school with some of the parents and had a final reflection of the day.  What a beautiful way to brighten up a wet & dismal Monday!
  • John Henry Newman has now officially been declared a saint!

    Sun 13 Oct 2019
John Henry Newman has now officially been declared a saint by Pope Francis, on a beautiful sunny morning in Rome!

Pope Francis has declared the English theologian John Henry Newman a saint.

The Pope pronounced the formula of canonisation before a packed congregation in St Peter’s Square.

He also canonised four others: Mother Mariam Thresia, Marguerite Bays, Mother Giuseppina Vannini and Sister Dulce Lopes.

  • Year 6 Rugby Team 🏈

    Thu 10 Oct 2019
A very muddy year 6 playing rugby today at Old Halesonians. Although we didn’t win, we had a fabulous time, displayed true team spirit and worked together brilliantly.
  • Harvest Food Bank Collection

    Thu 03 Oct 2019
A big thank-you to all of the families who contributed items for the Black Country Food Bank. Y5 helped Mrs Turner create the display before our whole school harvest assembly tomorrow.

  • Free mental health and emotional wellbeing service The Children's Society

    Wed 02 Oct 2019

The Children's Society runs a number of drop-in services to support young people (aged 0-25) with their mental health and emotional wellbeing (for example anxiety, depression, anger, stress).

They provide a safe space where young people can play a game, do something creative, go somewhere quiet to think, or simply have a chat with someone who will listen and try to help work things out.  No waiting list, no appointment, no referral, and 100% free.

This term they will be at Costa Coffee on Stourbridge Ring Road every Wednesday from 4pm until 7pm (their quietest hours, they close to the public at 6pm).

Any young person between 5 and 18 years old (up to 25 if they are a care leaver) can drop-in during these hours and speak to a member of our friendly, skilled, and dedicated team, or just hang out and do some colouring if they prefer.

See the links below to find out more about our drop-in services that run in other parts of the Midlands!

  • Look who's been bringing out the best for the benefit of others!

    Tue 01 Oct 2019
Our very own superstars Laura & Katie, joined 36 other girls, who had at least 8 inches of their hair cut off to donate to The Little Princess Hair Trust, to make wigs for children who have lost theirs due to cancer treatments. Wow! So brave!

The girls were treated like princesses for the afternoon with a horse and carriage ride, red carpet and lots of other treats for giving their hair. They have also worked hard over the past few months raising money through cake sales, sponsorships, lucky squares and the girls have made and sold pom-pom pets (they raised £20 doing this). Overall they made just over £500 and the money is still trickling in! The donation page will still be available for the next few months, should you wish to make a donation.

Laura & Katie were filmed for the occasion and were also on "Midlands Today" on Sunday. The charity Matt's Mission made £16,000 from this event alone, which will go towards helping grant wishes and providing adapted holidays for children with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

What a wonderful way to show Witness to their Faith- well done girls, we are so proud of you! Your new hair styles look fab-u-lous!

  • Kitchen Update!

    Mon 30 Sep 2019
As you can see from the pictures, taken by Mr Brettle, our brand new kitchen is coming along nicely. The builders have been extremely busy throughout the summer and are on schedule to finish at half term. This will enable us to cook from scratch; developing our children’s understanding of growing their own vegetables in their planters, and using them in our brand new kitchen as part of our lunches! We will also have our own herb garden to grow herbs and use them in the cooking! How exciting!
  • MacMillan Coffee Afternoon
