Yippee- it’s finally finished. 🙏😀🙏
Today, we opened our brand new kitchen in school. All the staff & children loved the food; so much to choose from: homemade lasagne, pizza, baked potatoes, help yourself to the salad bar, and much, much more. The Lunch Bunch were on hand to offer support to the little ones as they battled with the new technology and tried to carry their trays for the very first time, and our new cook, Sue, 👩🏼🍳 said our children had impeccable manners. ☺️
It was wonderful to see how much the children enjoyed the food; some even had seconds; nothing going to waste.
We cannot wait to grow our own vegetables in the Spring Term, which we will then use to teach the children as part of our healthy eating programme ; cooking in the curriculum. 🍎🍌🥔🍓🥦🥕🌽🥒🥬🍨🌮🍕
Today lessons stopped as we fell silent and remembered the brave soldiers who laid down their lives for us.
As Mrs Woods played ‘The Last Post’ on her trumpet, we thought about the sacrifices all of the brave soldiers made and continue to make for us and our freedom.
We held a 2 minute silence which was impeccably observed by our children.
Today we remember all those who lost their lives in conflict; past & present! This year marks 75 years since battles in 1944. We offer our thoughts and prayers for all those left behind. 🙏 Tomorrow, at 11am, we will be holding our own Remembrance Service in school, where we will display all the children’s art work, to celebrate this momentous occasion! 🙏💕🙏
Let us pray for all those who have died through war or acts of violence; may we never forget their sacrifice.
Let us also pray for peace-makers and peace-keepers, who seek to keep this world secure and free. 🙏💕🙏
Mini Vinnies have been shopping today and bought all their stock, ready for when they open their shop next Friday! How exciting! 🙏😊🙏
All of the profits, will go to supporting the homeless people in our local community of Halesowen. Please support them; they have done wonderful items on sale- you will find them in the playground every Friday, starting next week! 💕💕
Today, we congratulated Harry, Elizabeth, Jude & Orla in a whole school assembly, as it was announced that they had been chosen to join our SLT, as our Head Boy/Girl and their Deputies.
We are so proud of each and everyone of them, and we know that they will be great ambassadors for our school; supporting the Governing Board, Mrs Finnegan, SLT and the School council, to follow our Mission Statement by bringing out the best in everyone, for the benefit of all, in the Spirit of Christ. Congratulations again; so proud!
Scripture is at the centre of everything the Church does. The word of God shapes our prayer and worship. The Bible shows us how to understand the world, how we are called to live and relate to each other.
2020 is the 10th anniversary of Verbum Domini – Pope Benedict XVI’s Apostolic Exhortation on ‘The Word of the Lord’ and the 1,600 anniversary of St Jerome’s death. These dates have inspired the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales to dedicate 2020 as a year of focus on the Bible and ‘The God Who Speaks’.
During the year, we will be celebrating, living and sharing God‘s word with an exciting new Scripture initiative. It’s an opportunity to enrich current practice and to develop and explore new ways of responding to ‘The God who Speaks’.
God who Speaks Prayer 🙏
Living God,
you walk alongside us
and speak to us throughout the Scriptures.
Your Son, Jesus Christ, listens to our hopes and fears
and shows us how to live for one another.
Send us the Holy Spirit to open our hearts and minds
so that we may be your witnesses throughout the world.
Amen
V. Your word is our path and your truth is our light.
R. This day and every day.
