On Tuesday 7th July, Bishop Pargeter joined Fr Bruce in school, to bless our new offices and welcome area! Mrs Anne North, our chief cleaner, who retired early this year, came back to cut the ribbon, along with the oldest and youngest children in school! The whole school joined in the prayer service as Bishop Pargeter sprinkled Holy Water over us all. We thank Bishop Pargeter and Fr Bruce for leading us in prayer!
  • Arts Week

    Wed 15 Jul 2015
During Arts Week, Matt Johnson, a local artist and past pupil of our school, came in to work alongside the children to plan, design and paint the book characters for our newly refurbished library! Matt was brilliant with all the children; passing on his artistic skills and talent and inspiring our own budding artists, inspiring them to persue their God given talents! Matt has worked in school throughout the year, working alongside the staff and children, enabling them to use their artistic skills across all areas of the curriculum! Well done Matt.
  • Mrs Finnegan's trip to Lourdes

    Mon 22 Jun 2015

During May half term, Mrs Finnegan joined members of the Arch Diocese of Birmingham for their 75th Anniversary trip to Lourdes. She travelled with parishioners from OLSK Church, supporting sick pilgrims on their journey! Mrs Finnegan shared all her memories and pictures with all the staff and children in an assembly on her return, including having lunch with our Arch Bishop, Bernard Longley. Wow! How fabulous!

Many of the children who travelled, were from the High Schools in our diocese and they were a credit to their schools, especially the staff and students from Hagley High School. Thank you for all of your prayers for those who travelled.

  • Goodbye Mrs North

    Fri 22 May 2015

Today, we said goodbye to Ann North, our chief cleaner, who retired today after many years of service to our school. All of the children performed a poem, a song and Y6, including Mr Brown, dressed up and danced to 'I want to break free' by Freddy Mercury! All of the classes presented Anne with cards, the staff presented her with gifts, including a lifetime achievement award and our Chair of Governors, Mr John Welsh, thanked Ann from all the Governors, past and present! Many staff who had previously worked with Ann came to celebrate and say their goodbyes too.

We thank her for her dedication and service she has provided over the many years that she has been with us. We hope that she enjoys her retirement and we wish her all the luck in the world. Thank you Ann, from all the staff, Governors, parents and children at OLSK!

  • Year 6 scientists come away with silver and bronze at Birmingham University Science fair!

Tue 21 Apr 2015 Miss Marshall

After months of preparation, 10 of our year 6 pupils were enthused and excited to take their science projects to Birmingham university. There, they were asked to display their projects, talk about them and hold an interview about their projects to three lots of judges.

The children began the day feeling anxious and nervous, but as time went by, they soon got into the feel of the science vibe and were able to deliver confident speeches about their posed question and their results.

After projects from 3 schools were judged, we were delighted to find out that two of our children from Our Lady and Saint Kenelm had been placed second and third!  What a fantastic result for all of our budding scientists!  I thank the children for their impeccable behaviour and endless enthusiasm!
