A big hello to my wonderful OLSK family!
I have just been reading the beautiful cards & messages that have been sent into school for me & they made me smile a lot! 😊
My operation went well & I am recovering & resting at home. I haven't got a bell to ring but I am being supplied with endless cups of tea & treats! Mr Turner is thoroughly spoiling me & making sure I take things easy (even though he does say, "What else is new?!") 😆
I have to start chemotherapy on the 20th October, which I know will be very stressful but knowing that you are all praying for me, keeps me going!
God bless you all! Xxxxx
SCHOOLCHILDREN across Halesowenand Rowley Regis are being urged to take part in a competition to design their local MP’s Christmas card.
James Morris MP has this week launched his annual Christmas card competition during a visit to Our Lady & St Kenelm RC Primary School.
Since being elected in 2010, the MP has organised a competition each year, with the winner having their drawing on the front of his official Christmas card, which is sent to senior politicians, including the Prime Minister, local charities, community groups and businesses.
Well done to all our Mini Vinnies who represented us in Church this morning! Izzy, Sophie & Dominika spoke to all the parishioners about our Christmas Winter Appeal; for the homeless people in Halesowen!
This winter we are hoping to raise enough funds to support the homeless, by purchasing winter weather packs!
Thank you to Fr Bruce for allowing us to speak with the parishioners & a huge thank you to them, for their generosity!
Thank you to all our parents, grandparents and carers, who baked all the delicious cakes for our Macmillan fundraiser today! They truly were wonderful! Thank you to our super mums in the HSA who organised the whole afternoon & to the girls in Y5 for helping set up the room!
We raised a whopping £230 to support this worthy cause! Well done everyone!
OLSK Mini Vinnies make their commitment to supporting the work
of SVP by reciting their Pledge in our Whole School commitment Mass.
Fr Bruce, our Parish Priest led them in their Misson and handed them a certificate at the end of Mass. Staff, Governors, parents and parishioners congratulate them as they continue their work by 'Turning Concern into Action.' Members of the SVP at OLSK Church came to support them with their pledge.
Well done to Sophie in Y5, for organising the Ice Bucket Challenge, which took place tonight at the Summer Ball, in front of all the staff, children, parents and Governors, in aid of raising funds for Mini Vinnies!
The competition was between Mr B and Mrs F; and the majority of the votes was for Mrs F!! Thank you to all the children, staff and parents for supporting this activity by donating money! What great fun it was watching Mrs F get soaked by not just one bucket of ice cold water, but two! Very brave!!
