Staff spent time in prayer as part of our spiritual mission to show ‘Witness to our Faith’ today, as we celebrated Mass at our Mother Church; St Chad’s Cathedral in Birmingham.
As part of our pilgrimage to the Cathedral, we had a tour of our Mother Church, to come closer to God & we were invited to lead parts of the Mass, including; reading, presenting the gifts at the offertory and celebrating with Fr, as Eucharistic Ministers.
The whole day was extremely reflective and gave us the opportunity for spiritual growth as we move forward into 2019.
We would like to thank the tour guides who showed us around the Cathedral and Fr & Sister Terese, who allowed us to help lead the Mass today! 🙏🙏
Truly magnificent array of festive decorations, including the Nativity, to celebrate one of the most amazing gifts; the Birth of Jesus Christ 🙏💕🙏
Today, we were delighted to welcome our very own little Mini Vinnie mascot, Vinnie Holiday, with his mum Claire & Aunty Julie!
OLSK Mini Vinnies were absolutely delighted to see him; he’s now turned two years old and walking & talking! He loved seeing the children and they loved seeing him. We gave him his Christmas presents, which he opened immediately, and was delighted with the puzzle about the farm. In return, Vinnie and his mom brought all our children sweets and biscuits for the staff!
Vinnie is in good health at the moment but will probably need further heart surgery in the near future. We keep Vinnie & his family in our prayers over the Christmas holidays.
Vinnies mom emailed to say a huge thank you to all the children for their impeccable behaviour & lovely manners! Well done to all our Mini Vinnies; we are extremely proud of you all.
This morning we started the day on a festive note with performances from our school musical theatre & choir groups and what performances they were!
The children in the musical theatre led by Mrs Simpson started off with a festive poem about being kind to your turkey this Christmas! They then performed a play about people talking in church, finishing off with a song about Santa getting stuck up the chimney!
The choir, with Miss Harris playing the piano, started off with a beautiful song about the first Christmas called ‘Glory, peace on earth’. They finished off our festive morning with a rendition of ‘Sleigh Ride’ which we all joined in with.
What a wonderful way to start the day, A huge thank-you to all of the children involved as well as Mrs Simpson and Miss Harris for leading the groups.
Staff get all festive for Christmas Jumper Day! Wow! They look fabulous! 💕🤣💕
Today, more than 150 children chose to have a traditional Christmas dinner. It was presented with all the trimmings, including the sprouts! 🤣🤣
All the children & staff, had a great time singing Christmas songs as they served, cleaned up & ate their lunch! A huge thank you to our amazing Lunch Bunch, for all their hard work; supporting us in the dining room! 💕💕
