  • Parking near school

    Tue 15 Dec 2020

We have once again received a complaint from the local residents regarding inconsiderate parking near the school grounds.

As advised numerous time, the new estate on Bundle Hill is a private gated community, parents should not be parking in front of the gates, or by the garages near the flats - they are both private properties, are surrounded by double yellow lines and you are therefore parking illegally!

Please see the letter below from West Midlands Police that we shared with you in October that clearly stated residents and teachers have the ability to take images of the cars and report them to the police.  They will then review the evidence and will decide on the action that may be taken which could include fixed penalty notice and or court action.

  • Latest Covid Advice from Dudley

    Fri 11 Dec 2020

    Good Afternoon

Reduction in quarantine time from 14 days to 10 days

You will be aware from breaking news this afternoon that quarantine for contacts is being reduced from 14 days to 10 days from Monday 14th December.

    https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-chief-medical-officers-statement-on-the-self-isolation-period-11-december-2020

On Monday 14 December, the change to the isolation period for contacts will apply to all those who are currently self-isolating including those who commenced self-isolation before Monday. This effectively means that a review of current contact isolation periods will need to be undertaken.

Self-isolation periods will begin on the day after exposure, a test or the start of symptoms.

The NHS Test and Trace service will tell people to self-isolate for 10 days instead of 14 days from Monday.

If you require any support or further information please contact cypteam@dudley.gov.uk

  • Bambinelli Stones

    Mon 30 Nov 2020

    Bambinelli Sunday

The beautiful Advent Tradition, Bambinelli Sunday, was started by Saint Pope John Paul II when he was Pope.  On the Third Sunday of Advent (Gaudete Sunday), children and adults bring their Baby Jesus figures from their home nativity scenes to St Peters Square where they are blessed by the Pope.

Again, this year, we are asking all of the children at OLSK to make and bring in their own Bambinelli stone.

Find a small stone that will fit in your hand, clean it up and decorate it as Baby Jesus (see the photos for ideas). On the back clearly write your name and class so that you can take it home.

At our school Christmas Mass, Father Stefan will bless the Bambinelli that you have brought in from home.

Following the blessing, take your 'Bambinelli' home, wrap it in tissue paper and put it somewhere safe.  Open it as a family on Christmas morning where the youngest member of the family would place it in the crib.

If you haven’t got a Nativity scene at home then choose a special place where it can be put for the day such as part of your Christmas table    decoration or in the window of your house with a candle.

This year we will celebrate 'Bambinelli Sunday' on December the 13th.

Please bring your Bambinelli stones in on Monday 14h December (not before) so Father Stefan can bless them at Mass on Thursday 17th December.
