Red heat health alert from Wednesday 24 June

The UK Health Security Agency has issued a red heat health alert for the West Midlands. It is in place from Wednesday 24 June until Thursday 25 June.

Severe impacts are expected across health and social care services due to the high temperatures. Including:

    • increased risk to life across the whole population, with significant impacts on older people
    • significantly increased demand on all health and social care services
    • the heat affecting the ability of the workforce to deliver services
    • hot indoor environments making provision of care challenging and national critical infrastructure failures, such as generators and power outages
    • water-related incidents may increase, including risks from cold-water shock and drowning

Guidance to assist professionals in protecting vulnerable people from the health impacts of severe heat are set out in the Adverse Weather and Health Plan for England

  • Olympian Visit!

    Mon 20 Apr 2026

We are thrilled to be having Olympian Jemima Yeates-Brown come to visit school on 5th May!

On the event day, all pupils will take part in a sponsored fitness circuit run by Jemima and then she will share her incredible sporting journey, a story of resilience and determination in a fun and interactive assembly. There will also be an opportunity to ask any burning questions in a Q&A session with their inspiring role-model at the end!

With our Great Athlete event coming up in a couple of weeks, now is the time to set up a fundraising page for your child to kickstart their sponsorship journey! You can follow the instructions below, or watch the video here: https://vimeo.com/1148909287

    1. Go to the Great Athletes website https://greatathletes.org/
    2. Click on ‘set up a fundraising page’:
    3. Click on ‘find my school’.
    4. Start typing your school name and select your school from the dropdown – check that the postcode matches!
    5. This should take you to a page with your school’s name at the top and information about your visiting athlete. Click on set up a fundraising page.

    1. Create an account by filling in your details.
    2. Enter your child’s details and click publish. You can sponsor your child straight away so type in your name and the amount you’d like to sponsor and you’re all set - you can also share this page with friends and family!
