Summer 2

Rights and Responsibilities.

Who is responsible for the Sea Creatures?

This half term, the children in Reception will explore the fascinating world of the sea and its creatures, through our question: “Who is responsible for the sea creatures?” Through this topic, they will develop an understanding of God’s creation, the importance of looking after our world, and the role each of us plays in caring for living things. Through the Catholic Social Teaching lens of 'Rights and Responsibilities' Children will come to understand that everything in creation has a purpose and value, and that we are called by God to protect and care for the Earth, not just for the sake of nature itself, but for the well-being and livelihood of our brothers and sisters around the world. By looking after the oceans and sea creatures, we are also helping to care for the people, especially the poor and vulnerable, whose lives depend on clean waters and a healthy environment. We are responsible!
