Summer Term

We had a great time in forest school exploring the new mud kitchen. Lots of water play, just what’s needed on a hot day like today! 😎☀️🥵

Sport’s Day 2025

We had great fun testing a range of materials to see if they were magnetic or not magnetic.

We have started our Science topic on forces and magnets by sorting pictures into 3 different groups - pull, push or both.

What a lovely time we had celebrating our First Holy Communion with Father Stefan and the rest of the school followed by a yummy buffet.

As part of Design & Technology we made some unleavened bread. We practiced the skills of stirring, kneading and rolling and enjoyed tasting it when it was cooked.

We have finished our planter ready to celebrate OLSK’s 60th birthday. 🎁🎈

In Literacy we enjoyed taking on the role of the girl and the guard in our book ‘Journey’ as part of a short role play.

In PE we have started our striking and fielding unit, learning how to play rounders. Today we practiced throwing and catching before playing group games which involved the basic skills needed.

Working hard on our writing in our Literacy lesson. 😄

We had lots of fun putting our skills into practice to play mini basketball games. We even had a go at shooting the ball into the big hoop.

We wanted to explore how stems work so we put a piece of celery and a white rose in water with red food colouring. After a few days you could see specks of red on the top of the celery and the tips of the rose petals.

Our parents came to our First Holy Communion workshop to join in with our learning! We read from scripture & enjoyed making some FHC crafts!

We continued our journey to First Holy Communion with a wonderful retreat day with Dan Callow. We learnt new songs and had time for quiet reflection about the Holy Eucharist.

After a short but busy half term, we enjoyed an ice-lolly & a film! 😁❤️

In Science we planted four plants and left them in different conditions - all conditions, light but no water, no light but water and no light or water. Over a couple of weeks we observed them to see which plant grew the best.

We are really enjoying developing our basketball skills.

We had our lunch in Birmingham Library, had a mooch around the children's section and even went up the massive escalators to the roof garden which was very high!

We had a wonderful time exploring Singers Hill Synagogue as part of our investigations into Judaism during Multicultural Week

We loved spending the day in our pyjamas raising money for the Book Trust! We spent some time reading outside too! 📚😁

We explored the story of the Prodigal Son through drama & hot-seating ready for our writing activity on Monday. What wonderful actors we have! 🤗🎭🎬

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day, we found out all about the Spitfire plane and we made out own out of cardboard. We re-enacted a WW2 dogfight with our planes!

An you guess what animal we are miming this time?

It was so warm in the classroom so we took our RE lesson outside. We were designing Easter crosses depicting the resurrection for our Eastertide display!
