Creating boats and testing if they will sink or float and stay waterproof.

More than and fewer than.

The children have been Scientists exploring freezing and melting. Experimenting, predicting and investigating which Ice cube would stay frozen the longest, and which one would melt first.

In bike ability this week the children have been riding and gliding their bikes down the lane.

Goldilocks and the three bears. After hearing the story that is set in the deep dark woods, the children worked together in small groups to follow a recipe and make porridge. We now know why Goldilocks ate it all, it was yummy!

Maths this week! Counting and recognising that each number number increases by one more.

Friday Maths: One more and one less.

In RE we have been looking at the important objects and artefacts that Father Stefan uses to help people in his special job.

Forest School fun! The ground was very wet and cold, we found lots of slugs and snails and enjoyed jumping in the muddy puddles.

Maths: Composition and Conceptual Subitising.

UTW: Exploring how objects move.

Subitising! The children have been subitising numbers up to 6, recognising the sub-groups and creating dot patterns using their ‘camera eyes’. Using the skills taught the children then applied their knowledge to play different games using a die, such as rolling a die and counting actions to match and playing number track games.

Some of the children’s learning from this week based upon the Christmas RE unit.

This half term the children are beginning their dance unit in PE. Today they practiced moving to beats of 4, 6 and 8.

Pupil prepared prayer and RE. The children said prayers for the Epiphany and revisited the Nativity story by recalling and sequencing events, helping them understand who Jesus’ special visitors were and the order they visited.
