Today we had a talk from Birmingham University where we looked at weather in the UK. We investigated whether it was windier and colder in Edinburgh compared to London! We had so much fun 🌧️🌪️

We had a lovely Stay & Pray session with our parents/carers today. We reflected upon when Jesus called Levi and spoke about how we can follow Jesus this Lent 💜

Today in Geography we explored the different seasons. We followed a map and route around our school to collect objects to make our journey sticks. The journey sticks signified that we are in the season of Spring at the moment! 🌿🌼🌷

We loved our first music lesson with Mr Shepherd today! We learned all about dynamics and tempo. We then explored scales on the glockenspiels! 🎶

Today in DT we categorised fruits and vegetables. We examined them closely to see whether they had seeds!

Today we had our first Stay & Pray for the season of Lent. We spoke about how we can be more like Jesus this Lent 💜

Safer Internet Day 2026! We spoke about the good and unsafe things when it comes to AI like using voice assistant. We then created our own online safety plans! 💻

In science today we investigated what happens to sound as you move further away. We also guessed what was in the shaky pots!

Today in Maths we were finding doubles by rolling the dice!

Fabulous writing in Year One!

Today in science we were exploring the senses of sight and smell. We tried to follow the spots without using our eyes. We then did a smell test and had to guess what items were in the cups! 👀👃

Finding the relationship between number bonds to 10 and number bonds to 20!

Year One led KS1 in a beautiful Mass this morning for the feast of St Thomas Aquinas! 🙏🏻

Today we continued working on our dribbling skills in PE. We had to avoid the ice monsters!

Today in RE we used role play to act out the miracle of The Feeding of the Five Thousand 🍞🐟

In our Mastering Number sessions we have been exploring the parts of different numbers!

In science today we explored our taste and touch senses. We tried different foods and described what it tasted like. We also explored the sense of touch by trying to guess the mystery item in the box. We learned that putting gloves on reduces our sense of touch!

Today we used sources of toys from different decades to ask questions and make notes. We have great discussions with our peers 🧸

Estimating on a number line!

Today in History our parents and grandparents came in to tell us about the toys they played with as children. We learnt so much and had great fun! Thank you to our parents and grandparents! 🧸

In science we were investigating the question ‘Do people with bigger feet have bigger hands?’

In PE we have started our ball skills unit by practising dribbling with our feet ⚽️

We enjoyed learning about 1 more and 1 less with numbers up to 20!

We have been exploring tens and ones in place value this week 🧮

Today in dance we added superpowers to our sequence! Some of us used super balance, invisibility and super jump!

This week in mastering number we have been exploring the number 9!

Today we began our Superheroes dance unit of work! We created 3 movements and put them together into a sequence! 🦸‍♀️

Today we began our history topic exploring how toys have changed over time. Today we brought in our favourite toys and talked about why they were special to us! We also thought about what our favourite toys may have been in the past!
