The Caritas Ambassadors have once again demonstrated their commitment to caring for creation by taking action in the local community. After observing a growing amount of litter accumulating in the gulley near the school, the group decided that something needed to be done. Motivated by their shared values of responsibility, service, and environmental stewardship, the pupils, led by Mrs Fairfax and supported by Mrs P, organised and carried out a full clean-up of the area.
Armed with gloves, bags, and plenty of enthusiasm, the Ambassadors worked together to remove rubbish, sort recyclable materials, and restore the space to a cleaner and safer condition. Their efforts not only improved the appearance of the local environment but also helped protect local wildlife and reduce the risk of pollution entering nearby waterways.
Staff praised the pupils for showing initiative and living out the Caritas mission in a practical and meaningful way. The project also sparked valuable discussions about how small actions—like disposing of waste correctly and encouraging others to do the same—can make a significant impact on the wider community.
The Caritas Ambassadors hope their example will inspire other pupils and families to take pride in their surroundings and think about how they, too, can contribute to caring for the world around them.
