Music

Y6 have been learning all about the genre of blues. They experimented with different notation and which notes make the smoothest blues sound.

Y3 are brilliant at keeping the rhythm and following a beat on the chime bars! Well done!

Year 2 have been learning all about pitch in their music lessons using the chime bars!

We absolutely loved taking part in the Harmony event led by the DPA! What a way to celebrate music in our school community.

Y4 have been working on writing out their notation, what a brilliant skill to learn. Well done Y4!

KS2 performed an incredible Nativity for the school! The singing was incredible!

Wow! Our very own OLSK band at Ingestre! We have been learning so many instruments and new skills. We even have some of the youngest children singing solos!

Music plays a hugely significant role in helping children to develop their creative skills. Educational theorists are increasingly emphasising the importance of “emotional intelligence”, developing a creative mind and fostering personalities and imaginations as children make their journey through school, to become happy and well rounded individuals.

This is why we strive to give all pupils the experiences and opportunities which allow them to express themselves and help them develop their self confidence and self belief, which will provide a natural pathway for children to go on to master many more skills that will equip them for life.
