Our Liturgy Leaders delivered Pupil Prepared Prayer for the first time. We are very proud of them. π
Today we practised our cutting and peeling skills ready for making seasonal tarts in a few weeks time. We used the bridge and claw grip when cutting to keep our fingers safe. We felt like proper chefs! π
We worked in groups of 4 to create a routine which included a balance, roll, 3 point balance and 1 jump or leap. We performed our routines to each other.
Bonjour, ca va? We continued learning how to greet each other in French. We are French superstars. π«π·
In our ukulele lesson today we planned out what we will be performing in our concert in a few weeks time. We also started to learn a very special song for our performance. π
Today we had a Geography day to start our new topic. We learnt about the Earth’s layers, continents and how different mountains are formed. We had great fun creating our own volcano and finished the day with some volcano art.
In groups of 3, we practised a range of counter balances.
In History, we played a bartering game to see who could survive the Iron Age.
Each week, we are gaining in confidence with playing the ukulele, learning different chords as well as singing a range of songs.

In Art, we used all of the skills learnt in our lessons to create a piece of work for our Remembrance art.
In PE, we discussed what we have done in previous sessions - rolls, jumps and balances. We then explored a variety of leaps. In groups of 6, we worked together to do leaps, balances, rolls and jumps to create a routine.
This week in PE, we created a routine with a 3 point balance, any type of roll and a combined balance and a jump. We then performed our routines.
Space Week 2025 - we learnt about satellites and how they help us learn about the changes in the Earth due to climate change. Each table had a mission to complete where their satellite had spotted a problem on Earth.
In PE, we had 4 different stations to explore involving jumps and balances with a challenge of doing a forward roll.
This week in PE, we moved around different stations carrying out different tasks:
Some children even managed to do a forward roll off the platform.
We walked to our church to explore the different areas where we pray. We also had the chance to practice our readings for our mass of commitment on Sunday.
In Music this week, we started to learn the song ‘Daydream Believer’ with the help of some actions, before moving on to playing the chord c major on our ukuleles.
In Literacy, we did some hot seating before taking on the roles of the grandfather and the boy from the book the ‘Seal Surfer’.
In Art we have been using a variety of pencils to practice shading. Today we worked in our table groups to use our observational skills to complete a drawing of an object. We took it in turns to add parts on to the drawing, passing it on when our time was up.
In PE the children travelled across the bench using 2,3 and 4 points, ensuring that they landed safely when jumping off the bench.
Practical Maths on our whiteboards solving calculations involving adding and subtracting hundreds.
In our forest school session with Mrs Morris, we learnt about global warming and climate change with some of the children demonstrating what is happening. We were lucky enough to have some time to explore our fabulous area.
What a super effort you have all made with your summer holiday project which was to find out about the Stone, Iron and Bronze Ages. Thank you for all of your hard work. π
We learnt about what democracy is by thinking about all of the different choices we make and how they can be fair. Then we decided on our class reading book by filling out a ballot paper to cast our votes. When reflecting on how the task made us feel, words mentioned were: included, excited, welcomed and proud.
In Literacy, we showed what super writers we are by writing about something we know a lot about e.g football teams, cricket, dinosaurs and ourselves. π
