Autumn 2

Autumn 2- Stewardship of God's Creation

How can we take action for environmental justice as part of our faith?

In this half term, the curriculum will be centred in the Catholic Social Teaching principle of 'Stewardship of God's Creation', particularly focussing on the question 'How can we take action for environmental justice as part of our faith?' In maths, we will begin to look at fractions as well as converting units. In Literacy, we will build on our reading and writing skills through studying the book 'The Place for Me' by Dame Floella Benjamin.

Children will study what it means to be a follow of Christ as part of our Sacramental preparation and will also look at the importance of prayer before beginning our journey through Advent. Through geography, children will study population changes over time and the reasons for this, including migration. We will study the impact that population has on our environment and our ability to care for it.

Across the wider curriculum of art and music, children will learn key skills, with their end piece being linked back to our overarching theme.
