We have been measuring length using arbitrary units such as hands, paper clips and cubes.

Wow - what an amazing class assembly about our mums! We are so proud of the way the children spoke so confidently and clearly today. Well done everyone!

Today, we had a special visitor in school - British Olympian swimmer Amy Smith. We thoroughly enjoyed the sponsored activities and were inspired by her story of hard work and perseverance! 

We have been learning about how numbers are made from tens’ and ‘ones.’

Thank you for returning your orange hearts to school with your messages of support for refugees and asylum seekers. Beautiful and uplifting words! 

Just before half-term we took part in the Big Schools Birdwatch, here's our certificate.  We can't wait to see which bird won the count!

Our Science topic is all about materials. We sorted some objects made from everyday materials and used their properties to group them.

In dance this week, we expressed ourselves to the music and took it in turns to follow our partners actions.

In our music session today linked to our big question ‘What does it mean to belong?’ we listened to a song about singing and playing together and how that makes us feel. We had our first go using the chime bars to play along with the song.

First dance lesson with Mr Benjamin - Year 1 have moves!

What does it mean to belong? Our first history session on our big question. We were busy being historian, learning what a timeline is and creating one about our school community.
