OLSK Library

Our lively, welcoming and well resourced library gives our children positive experiences of books, computers and other media. It shares the ethos and values of the whole school, is an effective and economical shared resource and a centre for learning and literacy development. IT is an integral part of this learning environment.

Our library promotes equality, diversity and inclusion.  Its role is to help create confident, enthusiastic readers and engage children in life-long learning. There is a clear link between the quality of our school’s library and the general well-being of our children and their literacy levels.

Our Amazing Librarian Team

Our amazing team of librarians run our school library - scanning books in and out, reading to children, recommending book choices, keeping the library tidy and well-stocked.

Each class has an opportunity to visit the library either on an allocated lunchtime or during the school day. Every child has their own library account and is able to take a book of their choice, home to share with their parents or family members.

The librarians keep track of who has which book through the 'Reading Cloud' software which the librarians have all had training to use.

We are proud to be a member school of the Puffin World of Stories programme which promotes reading for pleasure and the use of the library in school.
