The Caritas Ambassadors organised a Grandparents Afternoon Tea in the hall. They and we, wanted to say a big thank-you to all of the Grandparents who help so much with child care allowing Moms and Dads to go to work. They are the unsung heroes of our school so we wanted to recognise all that they do and spoil them!

What did Grandparents think?

'Organised really efficiently. Really good turnout. Nice to meet the grandmas of other pupils in our granddaughter’s class. Excellent cakes! The monitors were very welcoming.'

Everything was laid out perfectly and the Staff and children helping out were polite, friendly and a credit to the school which only added to the experience.'

What could be improved?

'Have water available for those who don't drink tea or coffee and advertise it to make people comfortable to ask for it.'

'Had to wait 40 minutes for grandchild so maybe look at that aspect (sorry it’s not a criticism)'

'Only improvement would be:- We filled in form on arrival so this could have been used to fetch the children in to see grandparents! Rather than use the form we originally completed because not all grandparents managed to come obviously circumstances changed but children were sent into to see grandparents and could have been upset when nanny or grandad were not there!'

'A few children came in and their grandparents weren't there. Maybe work from the signing in sheet 🤔 to avoid disappointment'

'It would have been nice if our grandchildren's teacher's had introduced themselves so we could put a face to the names that our children are excited to tell us about.'
