Focus Stories
We have been sharing the story of the Nativity 👼 the children have fully immersed themselves into playing the roles of each character and are learning all about the birth of Jesus and the journey Mary and Joseph went on.
We shared the story of Diwali, learning all about Rama and Sita. We acted the story out together using puppets and also watched the story on the interactive whiteboard. To celebrate them returning to their home we explored Hindu dancing too 🪔
Our focus story this week has been “Owl Babies” 🦉
Our focus story has been, ‘peace at last’, the children have loved using the props to retell the story. They are beginning to learn about the concept of time and develop their listening skills by identifying a range of sounds from the story 🧸
We have been reading ‘Elmer’ we have used our props to retell the story and are continuing to develop our understanding of the differences between one another. We also created our own Elmer, choosing which colour, pattern and materials we wanted 🐘 We have also been sharing the different variations of the Elmer story, which introduces different characters, including patchwork teddy and Wilbur.
We have been reading The Colour Monster together, we are learning which colour represents each feeling and helped the colour monster to sort the emotions into the correct jars. 🔴🔵🟡🟣🟢⚫️
