Congratulations to our Pupils of the Term

We had so much fun designing our Easter Bonnets for our school parade. Thank you parents and carers for joining us and helping us make them.

During Holy Week we have been learning all about the important events which happened before Jesus died on the cross. We enjoyed lots of different activities which helped us understand how important Holy Week is.

On Art day we had lots of fun starting our Easter cards we used a technique using oil pastels and baby oil to get them to blend together.

We enjoyed talking about how we need to ask Jesus for forgiveness when we do something wrong. We even started counting to 40 because that’s how long Jesus spent in the wilderness.

Today we enjoyed acting out a different version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears in forest school

Today was St Joseph’s Feast Day, as he is our class Saint we were celebrating.

Today we have been 3D shape hunting

We enjoyed sharing projects with our school community and parents.

We have enjoyed making porridge this week and even tasting it like Goldilocks did, we even got chance to have some messy play with the oats it was really fun!

We’ve been practising our number bonds to ten this week using different objects in our classroom.

Congratulations to our winner of the Science projects

This week, we celebrated British Science Week with an experiment based on our story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We used our sense of smell to work out the different things that Goldilocks came across in the bears’ house. We didn’t like the smell of vinegar or garlic! Phew! However, we LOVED the smell of the chocolate and worked that one out very quickly!

We loved making our OLSK snowman today. We worked together as a team it was very chilly! 🥶🥶🥶

We had so much fun for World Book Day! We have been learning all about ‘The Lion Inside’

CST week we have had so much fun learning with Poppy this week. We did lots of thinking how we could help others

We’ve been exploring different ways to make numbers this week.

Zoom zoom we love the bikes and scooters it was lovely and sunny for us too.

We love sharing stay and pray with our families.

Today we were introduced to the season of Lent. We were learning all about why we have pancakes and why Lent is such a special time for us. We enjoyed painting a purple cross too.

In maths this week we have been making aliens and comparing their features with our friends.

Congratulations to Isabella who won the science competition for Ogden Trust! Well done to all of YR who designed a project and took part!

We loved dressing up and learning all about Women in Science today.

We really enjoy practising throwing and catching in PE.

Collective worship

Today we invited our parents in for our open afternoon to share all our lovely work with them.

On art day we designed jungle or city pictures using the wax resist technique from the story The first hippo on the moon.

As part of national storytelling week YR have been practising talk 4 writing and recorded their version of ‘The first hippo on the moon’.

In forest school we acted out the story of the Gruffalo we love outdoor learning.

This week is national story telling week and today Mrs Ray treated us to a story in the hall.

Today in maths we have been exploring how much rocket fuel Hercules can take to the moon with him.

Superhero day! We really enjoyed being a superheo for the day we had so many fun activities to do 🦸🏼🦸🏽‍♀️

Today we did a role play Baptism in our classroom, we took on the roles of the important people at this sacrament it was really fun.

Today we were investigating the weight of some rocks in maths we needed to find out which was heavier as Hercules needed extra rocket fuel for his rocket.

Today we made a paper chain in collective worship and talked about being connected as a school family.

It’s CST Week and we are learning about Solidarity and the Common Good. Today we talked about what it means to work and play together in peace and love. We then worked as teams to make a giant space rocket!

We zoomed into space using Google Earth and talked about the different features of our amazing planet.

We have been practising throwing and catching in PE this week.

We had the tablet academy come in and take us to space with the VR headsets, we really enjoyed it!

A new term means a new topic, in YR we are enjoying finding out more about Space. This week we have read the book ‘Whatever next!’ and set up our own space station, we have been to space just like baby bear!

This week we have enjoyed learning about the Epiphany and acting out the story in class
