It with great sadness that we say goodbye to a much loved member of our Year 3 family today! It is the final day of the school year and a great excuse for a party! Good bye Daisy- May we will really miss you. Good luck at your new school!
Today Year 3 had their First Holy Communion Thanksgiving mass. They read confidently, sang beautifully and joined in with the responses and prayers so reverently. Well done everyone! We are so proud of you!

This afternoon we joined Matt Pritchard for his amazing ‘Science Magic Show.’ We were fascinated as he created optical illusions and saw how he used his knowledge of forces to balance everyday items.
Today we explored the story of Pentecost using drama. We thought about how the disciples must have felt before, during and after they received the Holy Spirit.

Today, we really enjoyed reading the narrative poem -‘The Bogey Man and the Trolls next door.’
We had fun in forest school this afternoon, looking for clue cards so we could work out a code number to open a door and escape!
Today, we joined in with Dan and Emily for a Pentecost Prayer Service. The children were so reverent and joined in beautiful with the songs.

We absolutely loved our live session with Horrible Histories illustrator Martin Brown. He taught us techniques for drawing faces and we all had a go at drawing Henry VIII
Number Day in Year 3. We had a fun filled day with lots of number related activities.
Year 3 mass to honour Mary in the month of May. What a beautiful mass lead very reverently by the children. We crowned Mary with flowers.
In Our EBL topic about Mediterranean Countries - We have been looking at a map of Europe to find out where there are mountains. We looked for areas on the map that were yellow/ brown colour.
Year 3 Art Day - we looked at a painting called ‘The Lamb’ by Paul Klee. We used wax crayons to colour over the curvy lines in our ‘Holy Eucharist’ picture and then painted each section with water colour paint.
In Science we are investigating how much water plants need to be healthy. We hope our seeds grow into healthy radish plants!
