Mother Teresa (1910–1997) was a Roman Catholic nun and missionary who dedicated herself to helping the poor, the sick and the disadvantaged. During her life, she became known around the world for her love, care and compassion. After her death, she was also recognised by the Roman Catholic Church as a saint. They called her Saint Teresa of Calcutta, in recognition of her time spent in India. In year 2 we will be celebrating her feast day On Friday 4th September. Her official feast day is Saturday 5th September.
We will celebrate by remembering all of the wonderful work she did. We will write special prayers to her and celebrate the life she led.
