Exciting opportunity for all our wonderful singers!
A message from Dudley Performing Arts...
Come and join in the fun of the Dudley Performing Arts Virtual Summers Festival by taking part in our vocal montage video. All you need to do it come along to an online rehearsal where our vocal staff will teach you how to sing Rocking All Over the World. You will be accompanied by a full orchestra and backing singers. There will be opportunities to sing solo or if you prefer just be part of the chorus with everyone else. After a few rehearsals we'd like you to film yourself singing your part, and this will be your change to rock it out and shine. Once all the videos are sent in, the film crew will work their magic and produce a montage film of the song which will be released at our Virtual Festival on the DPA Youtube channel on July 5th.
If you fancy the rock'n'roll challenge all you have to do is contact firstname.lastname@example.org telling us that you want to come to the online rehearsal on Wednesday 10th June at 18:00.
Information and support from Dudley Performing Arts
Dudley Performing Arts are working on ways that they can help with music tuition during the period of school closure. Plans will be shared next week and will be published on their website and social media channels. Check www.dudley.gov.uk/dpa
after Monday next week and follow @dudleyperformingarts (facebook) or @arts_dudley (twitter) for updates. Please make sure instruments are not left in school.
Please encourage children to experience the Big Play on Friday 27th. This is an online celebration of music making in schools and incudes nearly 40 short films made in Dudley – you might even be on one! The ‘One Minute of Music’ films showing music in their classrooms will be shared on YouTube, Twitter and Facebook on Friday 27th March.
You could do the following:
- Subscribe to the Big Month of Music YouTube Channel
- Follow @WestMidlandsMu1 on Twitter and like on Facebook
- When our school’s film is profiled: watch it with your child, share it, comment on it, spread the musical joy!
- There are 150 other films: you could encourage your child to watch some of the other films of children making music in the region
On Tuesday 31st children will be able to take part in interactive singing sessions and watch a virtual concert filmed by schools who would have taken part in a big concert at Symphony Hall this week. This will be broadcast on YouTube and will let thousands of you sing along in your homes. Again, follow the social media links above to get more information as the day approaches.
