This week we are stepping away from our Anglo-Saxon topic and our EBL lesson will be linked to our Catholic Social Teaching theme 'Solidarity and the Common Good'.
What does the word 'solidarity' mean? Research its meaning and think about how it applies to you as a person and to others.
Explorers, Scientists, Doctors, Astronauts are often driven by the desire to do something great for humankind. Many of them often ended up living in great poverty, some even lost their lives because they were working for the common good and not for money.
Research examples of people who have changed the world for the better at a great cost to themselves. What information and facts can you find out about your chosen individuals and the work they carried out to achieve their aims for the common good of all? Some examples of people to research could include Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King, Greta Thunberg, Rosalind Franklin, Alexander Fleming as well as many more.
Can you find any information about people in the UK who have been recognised as Peacemakers of our time?
FOR THOSE IN SCHOOL, COMPLETED RESEARCH IS DUE IN ON THURSDAY 20TH JANUARY- THANK YOU!
