Year 6

     Welcome to year 6 !

We went on the bus to visit the botanical gardens! It was an amazing day and the children were able to take in the beauty of Gods creations and were lucky enough to take part in an animal handling sesion. They met Brian the snail, a corn snake, and many other creatures! We learnt about all of the musical instruments used in other countries and the plans used to make them. Together they formed an orchestra using these wonderful instruments! What a fabulous day we had!

As the weeks go by the children have settled in so well to class life. I am so proud of them. There are only a few weeks left until we break up for half term-where has the time gone! Your children have been focusing on lots of arithmetic in maths and are starting to apply this to SAT style questions, to help boost their confidence. In literacy they are really coming to grips with the depth in which they need to read a text - to then answer questions accurately. We keep God at the forefront of our learning and are beginning our beautful journey towards the sacrament of confirmation.

Tuesdays -  Y6 Forest school in the afternoon- bring clothes to change into on the afternoon.

Golden time - no electronics- however in an attempt to encourage creativity, I don't mind if the children have any arts and crafts activities they would like to bring in to do in school on Friday afternoons.
