HOMEWORK in YEAR 3
Each week your child will receive homework that is a reinforcement of work done during the week at school or revision of something covered previously. Please ensure the work is written neatly on the worksheet, in pencil.
Homework will usually consist of 15 minutes each evening, don't panic if the activity isn't finished after 15mins, just work hard and do your very best within that time.
Monday: Literacy – bring in Tuesday
Tuesday: Maths – bring in Wednesday
Wednesday: Wednesday word, stick into homework books
Thursday: Talking about the ‘Get Writing Activity’ - bring in Friday
Friday: Spellings for a test the following Friday. I belong book activity for following Friday.
Children need to please bring in all homework on a Friday.
The Wednesday word comes home for families to share and we encourage children to fill it in and return to school on a Friday..
Homework is marked using Peer Assessment. This is where the children mark their own or each other’s work with guidance from the staff.
If a child forgets to hand their homework in they will be given the opportunity to hand it in on the next school day. If it happens on 2 consecutive occasions, they will have to make it up in their Golden Time.
As part of topic work children will be expected to create a piece for an exhibition. It can be artwork, a written project or something that they have made to do with an area covered in the topic. This will run alongside normal homework and can be done anytime during the term. The topic is The Black Country. The project needs to be brought in on Thursday 22nd March 2018, parents can view the work from 3.10pm.
As we prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion activities will need to be completed in the children's special book ‘I Belong’ this will come home each week.
